VALUES and CODE OF CONDUCT

Our values are summarised by the phrase ‘Fun & Fitness Together’ which is itself adapted from the Walking Football Association’s (WFA) own tagline. We aim to reinforce these values in all we say and do.

In addition to these core values, other words that we aspire to are ‘Quality’, ‘Supporting’ and ‘Respect’.

We aim to not just do things, but to do them well, in the right sporting spirit. We aim to be supportive to each other, and with that comes mutual respect.

Our Code of Conduct between players, opponents and match officials demands the highest standards of respect for all, no matter what their race, ethnicity, gender, age, disability, or personal orientation.

We abide by, and adhere to the laws of the game as defined by the WFA.

FEES

Membership fees for the current 2025/26 season are £95.

This annual fee covers all Training sessions, all Friendly games, and any Tournament attendance, along with player insurance. Assuming regular attendance of 40 sessions a year, this works out at less than £2.50 per session.

Membership also gives a 10% discount on food and drink in the club’s bar.

We may also ask for an optional £1 fee per training session attended, to cover incidental club costs including equipment replacement e.g. footballs, bibs, etc.

Alternatively you can ‘pay and play’ for £5 per session, however this does not give full membership, nor allow for participation in Tournaments.

INSURANCE

Since walking football is essentially a non-contact sport, the risk of serious injury should be minimal, however as part of Ringmer AFC, all paid-up members of the walking football club are covered by the club’s insurance policy.

EQUIPMENT

Players are expected to provide their own clothing suitable for training, and most importantly this includes footwear appropriate for the 3G surface at The Caburn Community Ground i.e. astroturf or firm ground football boots.

For Friendlies and Tournaments, the club provides a football kit consisting of shirt, shorts, and socks. These items remain the property of the club, but are loaned at no cost to the player, and should be suitably maintained when in the possession of the player and returned to the club when requested.

The club also owns various items of equipment, including footballs, cones, space markers, and bibs, as well as first aid materials. Again, these remain the property of the club, and must be made available whenever requested to do so by the club.

WHO’S WHO

We have a growing club structure at Ringmer, which includes Jason Milburn (Club Manager) and Peter Dolton (Chairman), who are supported by others on our Management Committee (MC).

The MC meets on an ‘as needed’ basis. Membership is voluntary, and its composition may change from time-to-time.

We also have a small number of Coaches, who direct and oversee our regular Monday evening training sessions.
